Borana Lodge is found at 6,000 ft (3,000m) in altitude only 10km North of the equator. This climate leads to hot, sunny days and cold, sometimes windy mornings and evenings. Layers are key and cotton clothes in safari colours are the most comfortable.
Laundry service (excluding underwear) is available so large amounts of clothing are not required. We also provide towels, dressing gowns and hair dryers in all rooms.

For our riding guests, we have half chaps and helmets at the Borana stables for you to use while staying at Borana Lodge. The horses all have saddle bags, so you will be able to carry a few small items (such as your phone or camera) with you on rides.
Guests who reach us via lightweight aircraft have a strict weight limit of 15kg and usually require soft-sided luggage. We recommend having a decent luggage lock for your check-in bags when coming through Nairobi airport. Always pack your valuables and electronics in your hand luggage.
The dress code at Borana Lodge is casual but we all love to dress up for special occasions!
