OSTRICH RETURNING TO BORANA

In February 2015 the fence between Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Borana Conservancy was removed.  We expected lots of wildlife to move across to Borana but there has been very little movement of wildlife except for one male black rhino which is currently mating with one of our Rhinos by Milima Pesa and some ostrich!  As long as I have been on Borana (5 years) we haven’t ever had ostrich here until early this year.  Initially 5 females came across and moved up to the western side of Borana.  We spotted two this morning near Tinga Shamba.  Hopefully a male will come and join them and we will be seeing Ostrich Chicks in the near future.
